Ten Rules for Being Human

How I Live Them. How I Teach Them.

I was first introduced to the Ten Rules for Being Human, by Dr. Chérie Carter-Scott, in 2018. Over time, they have become a quiet structure for how I live, remember, and move through the world.

What follows is how I integrate these rules into my life and how they inform my work in Vibrational Psychology, Spiritual Integration, and Conscious Evolution through AjaOso.

(inspired and adapted from Dr. Chérie Carter-Scott original 10 rules)

1. You Will Receive A Body

You may love it or hate it. But this one body will be yours for the duration of your lifetime on Earth.

This rule ended spiritual bypassing for me. Early on, I believed growth meant rising above the body. Over time I learned the opposite: the body is the temple through which consciousness experiences this world.

My body has become one of my most honest teachers. Dissonance appears in the nervous system long before the mind admits it. When I push beyond what is coherent, overwhelm follows. When I am honouring my authenticity, my system feels steady, spacious, and at home in itself.

When we work together, we return to the pace of your body. Expansion must be grounded in your nervous system and guided by your capacity to embody it. Again and again, we return to the body as a living temple. Multidimensional awareness is not about floating above your humanity. It is about becoming fully present within it.

Core lessons: Acceptance, respect for the body, grounding and presence, embodiment, root-sacral-solar plexus healing, self trust, honouring limits and healthy boundaries

2. You Will Be Presented with Lessons

You are enrolled in a full-time school called "Life". Each days in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may or may not like the lessons. But you have designed them as part of your curriculum.

When I stopped asking, “Why is this happening to me?” and began asking “What is this experience teaching me?” – my life changed.

Remembering we are souls incarnated into human form reframes challenges.  Experiences stop looking like punishment and begin revealing themselves as invitations into awareness, responsibility, and choice. We may not control every circumstance, but we are sovereign in how we meet the lessons placed before us.

Conscious evolution begins the moment you recognise you are always in class.

In my work, I help you see life this way. Your emotional, relational, and creative patterns are not obstacles. They are energy to evolve through. This perspective changes identity: you are a soul evolving through human life, not a human seeking spirituality.

Core lessons: Openness, the power of choice, responsibility, sovereignty, humility, curiosity, resilience, awareness, playfulness.

3. There Are No Mistakes. Only Lessons.

Growth is a process of trial and error: experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as those that ultimately "work".

Spiritual growth unfolds through experience. Some paths lead exactly where we hoped; others reveal what we could not see. Approaching life with a beginner’s mind allows learning without judgement.

Mistakes are not evidence of failure. They reveal the law of cause and effect. Every choice carries consequences that reflect the level of awareness present at the time. Life is always offering feedback.

Growth begins when we stop defending our patterns and become willing to see what they are showing us. In working together, we do not eliminate error – we extract the lesson. Every experience shows where integration is needed. Trial and error is not a detour; it is the path.

Core lessons: Discernment, accountability, humility, compassion, honesty, responsibility, forgiveness, humour.

4. A Lesson Is Repeated Until Learned

A lesson will be presented in various forms until you have learned it.

Growth is spiral, not linear. Repeating patterns are looping energies that signal the next layer of your curriculum. What feels like “going backwards” is often life inviting deeper integration.

You can understand your trauma intellectually and still transmit it energetically. Real change happens when the body, nervous system, and awareness respond differently. A lesson is integrated when the old reaction no longer runs automatically and the familiar trigger loses its grip.

Repetition is feedback. Life will continue presenting the pattern until awareness turns into embodiment. In our work, I help you recognize these cycles and meet the lesson beneath the pattern.

Core lessons: Awareness, accountability, patience, humility, willingness, causality, courage, devotion

5. Learning Does Not End

There is no part of life that does not contain lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

Life never graduates us from growth. Every season, relationship, and challenge carries material for awareness and integration. To embody this rule is to remain curious, humble, and open to evolution.

Spiritual maturity is not about knowing everything. It is about staying teachable. It means approaching life with a learner’s mind, remaining open to new insight and allowing experiences to refine us.

In my work through AjaOso, we return to your real life as the classroom, using your current experiences to deepen awareness, refine patterns, and build embodied understanding over time.

Core lessons: surrender, commitment, flexibility, devotion, trust, curiosity, openness, adaptability, humour

6. "There" is no better than "here"

When your "there" becomes a "here", you will simply obtain another "there". That will again look better than "here".

This rule dismantled my attachment to future salvation.

Much of human life is spent reaching for the next place. The next achievement, the next level of healing, the next version of ourselves. We imagine that when we arrive “there,” something will finally feel complete. But the mind quickly creates another destination.

The impulse to grow and expand is woven into us. Conscious evolution naturally moves us forward, yet growth unfolds in the present.

To embody this rule is to fully inhabit where you are while moving toward what is next, to honour the journey without abandoning the moment.

Core lessons: gratitude, presence, unattachment, coherence, sufficiency, peace

7. Others Are Merely Mirrors Of You

You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself. Each reflection is an opportunity for growth.

This rule humbled me.

The people who triggered me most revealed what I had not integrated. The people I admired revealed dormant parts of myself waiting to be expressed. Mirrors reflect both shadow and potential.

When you work with me, I will gently return you to yourself. Projection is unintegrated power and reflection is reclaimed power.

Unity is not pretending we are the same. It is integrating our distortions so we stop transmitting fragmentation into the collective field.

Core lessons: self-awareness, ownership, clarity, compassion, healing, truth, responsibility, sovereignty

8. What You Make Of Your Life Is Up To You

You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

This rule is about sovereignty, free will.

I may not control every circumstance, but I am responsible for how I meet it and what I cultivate within myself. At some point evolution becomes a conscious decision.

You can continue rehearsing old identity patterns, or you can take responsibility for your energy and the life you are creating.

In my work, I do not rescue. I help empower. I support deeply, guide clearly, and hold space for transformation. But I will not collude with victim consciousness. True transformation begins when you claim your power.

Core lessons: Sovereignty, free will, responsibility, courage, agency, empowerment, integrity

9. Your Answers Lie Inside You

The answers to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

Inner guidance becomes clear when the heart, mind, and nervous system are harmonized and in coherence. When the system settles, discernment sharpens, and clarity naturally arises when you are centred.

In our work, I help clear distortion so your own awareness can lead. This rule is about self-listening. When you are truly centred, decisions do not feel confusing. The Knowing is already there.

Core lessons: Discernment, self-trust, listening, centredness, coherence, creativity, intuition, inspiration

10. You Will Forget All This At Birth

Throughout the process of life, you will have opportunities to remember if you choose.

When we arrive in the world, the memory of who we truly are is veiled. And much of life is spent rediscovering it.

Moments of insight, connection, beauty, and truth act as reminders of a deeper identity beneath the personality. Forgetting who we are creates the space for discovery; while remembering restores wisdom.

Conscious evolution is the gradual return to what has always been within you.

Core lessons:Faith, remembrance, recognition, belonging, wisdom

A Closing Note

These rules are the quiet structure beneath both my worldview and my work with AjaOso.

Vibrational Psychology gives language to energetic patterns.

Spiritual Integration grounds higher awareness in the body.

Conscious Evolution demands sovereign responsibility.

Plant Medicines help us remember and embody what has been forgotten.

Multidimensional Awareness expands perception without abandoning reality.

And everything begins the same way: with a human willing to show up, stabilize coherence in their own field, and keep learning how to inhabit their body, mind, and heart.

This is the path I walk alongside you, and the path I continue to walk within myself.

Aja xx
